Chicago Blackhawks Will Visit White House Thursday

The defending NHL champions will be recognized by President Barack Obama for the third time in six years.

The 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks will be at the White House on Thursday.

The team will be honored in the nation’s capital at 10 a.m. central time, according to WGN. The recognition gathering will take place one day after the team visits New York City to take on the Rengers. The team will have two days off following the White House visit before a trip to Minnesota to take on the Wild looms on Sunday.

It will be the third and final time President and former Chicago resident Barack Obama welcomes the city’s hockey team to the White House during his presidency. The Blackhawks also paid the president a visit following championships they won in 2010 and 2013.
