Church Building Collapses in Wicker Park

No one was injured after Mision Cristiana Church collapsed Monday morning.

CHICAGO, IL — No one was hurt after after a church that was under construction collapsed Monday morning in Wicker Park, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Mision Cristiana Church, 1905 W. Schiller St., was unoccupied when the collapse happened, according to the Chicago Tribune. Emergency crews arrived on the scene at about 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, and found that the church had paritially collapsed, the report added.

Police and fire crews have blocked roads around the area while the clean up and investigate the scene, the Tribune reports. A cause for the collapse has not been determined, the report stated.
