CIMMFest offers a three part percussion concert that showcases different styles and idioms of the percussion world.

CIMMFest Presents: Emanation – A Percussion Event will take place at The First Ward Chop Shop on April 16th @ 7pm. This concert will broadcast the home grown talents and ideas that have helped the Chicago music scene develop over recent years.
This year, CIMMFest offers a three part percussion concert that showcases different styles and idioms of the percussion world. Curated by Thomas Benko (Blue Man Group, Chicago Bears Drumline, Minor Characters), all aspects of percussion have deep roots in Chicago from the many drum companies that were founded and have prospered here to the many phenomenal bands, players, productions and composers that call this city home to the excellent music education of the locals schools and universities.
Odd River Trio (Kevin Hanrahan, Logan Ball, Colin Walker) is from Texas, but originates in Chicago will start the show with the mercurial and whimsical works of Chicago born composer Mark Applebaum. The show will segue to Benko/Sokol Duo (Thomas Benko, Alex Sokol) and will showcase a percussionist’s adaptation of Alex Sokol’s original music using an electro-acoustic kit.
