Circle Urban Ministries, Dedicated to Empowering Urban Youth in Chicago’s Austin Neighborhood, Hosting Mentoring Recruitment Event April 12
Circle Urban Ministries, a faith-based organization located in Chicago’s West side neighborhood of Austin, is hosting a mentoring recruitment event on Saturday, April 12. Founded in 1974 by a group of concerned residents, Circle Urban is dedicated to empowering urban youth through programs focused on mentoring, college readiness, arts enrichment and spiritual development.
Circle Urban’s 1-to-1 mentoring program matches concerned adult Christian mentors who want to help build a better future for students grades 6-12 and who can meet at Circle’s campus or in the community twice per month. At Circle Urban, students and mentors can enjoy the mentoring floor, which houses computers, a library, lounge, games and access to a gym.

“A good role model can make a tremendous impact on a young adult’s life,” said Dr. George Wilson, Executive Director at Circle Urban Ministries. “Our 1-to-1 mentoring program provides a great outlet for caring adults to make a difference and shows these kids that they are not alone, that working toward a better future is an admirable goal that we can accomplish together.”
