Empire Liquors, a Wicker Park lounge popular for its late-night dancing, closed last month after about seven years in business.
Located at 1566 N. Milwaukee Ave., the lounge featured local DJs, drinks and dancing. It had a closing party May 18 with special appearances by various DJs who had been through Empire before.
Empire opened in 2006 to a bit of fanfare, with Metromix and Chicago Magazine noting the wide variety of hipsters the lounge seemed to appeal to.
