Employee Stabbed At Wicker Park Store During Attempted Robbery

The stabbing happened at the AT&T store on West Division, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — An employee was stabbed while working at an AT&T store Wednesday afternoon in Wicker Park, police said. A group of teenage boys tried to rob the store, according to authorities. The stabbing happened in the 1800 block of West Division just before 4 p.m., police said.

Between four and five teens entered the store and tried to take display phones without paying, police said. The employee, 27, was stabbed in the abdomen. The teens then fled the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital, were his condition stabilized, police said.
