Holy Trinity Boys Basketball Wrap-Up 2016

No, they didn’t play for the state title, but nonetheless the 2016 Holy Trinity Boys Varsity squad should be VERY proud of their basketball campaign.

Team-wise the squad held a record of 19-10 on the season. It featured memorable wins and some heart-breaking losses. But thru it all, the seven seniors of the class of 2016 should be commended for the commitment and sacrifice of themselves, to their team and the HT program!!

Further we congratulate some individual accomplishments from the past few weeks and potentially this weekend (March 19).

First off, to senior Christian Camarillo who, captured the Illinois High School Association Class 2A Three-Point KING OF THE HILL shooting title in Peoria. He out-dueled 2A regional shooters to reach his championship. (NOTE: a set of youtube links is provided below).

It should be further noted that Christian is one of two Holy Trinity champions of the IHSA March Madness, with his three-point/KING OF THE HILL titles. He follows in the footsteps of Vernon Young (class of 2008) who competed in what was then the HAPPENING SLAM DUNK event. Vernon captured that title by one point!

Robinson Named to All-State team.

And to add to the mix, congrats to current HT senior Justin Robinson who was named to the 2A All-State Third team and will compete in an upcoming summer All-Star game downstate. (the complete All-State team with link listed below).
