Holy Trinity Captures Their Own Boys Volleyball Tourney Title

Outduel three schools for title; HT improves to 5-3 overall on the season.

It's been a busy week at home for the Holy Trinity boys volleybal squad and culminated with a title crown in their

own Tiger Invite April 16th in front of a very supportive home crowd this past Saturday (April 16).

The tourney featured four schools: HT, Guerin Prep, Little Village and Uno Charter Garcia in a round robin format.

Scores for the tourney were:
Guerin Prep def. Uno Charter Garcia 25-9, 25-5
Holy Trinity def. Little Village 25-20, 25-16
Holy Trinity def. Uno charter Garcia 25-5, 25-8
Little Village def. Guerin Prep 25-13, 18-25, 15-9
Little Village def. Uno Charter Garcia 25-7, 25-9
Holy Trinity def. Guerin Prep 25-22, 25-16 (title match).

HT 3-0, Little Village 2-1, Guerin Prep 1-2, & Uno Charter Garcia 0-3

Holy Trinity results feautured the following: Holy Trinity now improves to 5-3 overall; 1-2 in Chicago Prep conference

play. For the tourney HT was led by Alejandro Munoz (20 kills; 2 blocks; 12 service points); Rafael Montes (33 set assists,

25 service points with 16 ace serves; six digs) and Jose Zeremo (12 kills, four blocks, 20 service points, three ace serves).

All three were named to the All-Tourney team. As a team HT served 144 attempts, made 132 for a 92% average; and collected 36

team aces on the day.

"We played consistent volleyball thru this week and the tourney today," commented head Marcie Tokarczyk. "The team members

have been working very hard on game skills and today we saw that hard work pay off.

"Earlier this week we were very close to some wins, and today we moved in the right direction in capturing this tourney title."

"It gives us some positive momentum for the schedule in front of us," she added. "Our conference if very balanced and this effort

will bode us well for us versus our rival schools in upcoming play. she concluded.
