Holy Trinity Girls Basketball:

Concludes Season with Regional loss to Eventual Champ The Latin School.

Unfortunately for the Lady Tigers of Holy Trinity, the 2016 season is now over, as the team was unable to solve the likes of the number 1 seeded Latin School Feb. 10th in the semifinal round of the Tiger’s own regional. The final score was 64-13 in favor of Latin.

Actually for the first two minutes of this contest, all was even between these 2 teams as both came out searching for their shots to drop and the score stood at 0-0.

But once the Romans found their game it was a different story.

Latin’s first bucket came courtesy of Lauren Salzman at 5:51 of the 1st quarter and was quickly followed by two more for a 6-0 visitor’s lead.

Holy Trinity senior Pat Narasuwan buried a trey at the 4:47mark to spark the Tiger offense, but that 6-3 margin was as close as the Tigers would get this evening.

Latin finished the first quarter with a 15 point run to lead 21-6 after the first eight minutes of play, with HT’s Kurteshia Singleton converting a free throw with but 7 seconds to play for the above margin at the end of one.

By halftime it was 40-8 Latin and they never looked back.

Leading the Romans to victory were Jade Edwards with 18 points, Alexis Stevenson who had 16 and Kathryn Stender who added 14 on the night.

But even in defeat, the Tigers who concluded the 2016 campaign with a final 11-15 record hustled and did what they could versus a talented Latin team.
