Holy Trinity High School's 23rd Annual Guardians of Hope
Local high school hosts annual gala to support hundreds of deserving students with scholarships and financial assistance.

On Friday, March 11, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Navy Pier, Holy Trinity High School will host its signature annual event, the Guardians of Hope Dinner. The Guardians of Hope Dinner is a benefit to raise vital funds for intelligent, capable, young men and women in need of tuition assistance. This year’s Guardians of Hope honorees are Timothy M. Bopp, president of Holy Trinity High School, and Mary Anne Benden, senior regional attorney at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
President Bopp started his career as an attorney. After coaching the Holy Trinity boys’ basketball team in 1993, Mr. Bopp discovered a passion for educating young people. He took on the role of the school’s first director of development and has served as Holy Trinity’s president for the last nine years. Ms. Benden is a long-standing supporter of Catholic education. After attending Catholic elementary school, high school, and college, Ms. Benden is now a leader in the Archdiocese of Chicago through the Archdiocesan Women’s Council and at St. Raymond de Penafort Parish in Mount Prospect. Together, Mr. Bopp and Ms. Benden headed the Branches youth group program at St. Raymond for nearly a decade. The pair has impacted the lives of countless young people through their working supporting Catholic education in Chicago.
