GVB defeats Soto by scores of 25-11, 25-19 at home:

In a non-conference volleyball match at home Thursday evening, the Lady Tigers defeated visiting Acero Soto by scores of 25-11, 25-19.
Leading the way for the Tigers (15-1 overall; 5-0 in the Chicago Prep) were Karol Gonzalez (13 service points; four aces and 12 set assists); Sakayah Garity (4 kills); and Cece Gardner (5 kills; six service points with 3 aces).
Teammates Sui Len (4 digs) and Star Brooks (3 service points) were also a factor in the team win.
HT SERVING: 48 attempts with 42 made for an 88% average and 16 service aces.

The Jv also won, defeating Soto by scores of 25-9, 25-21 and featured Alyssa Hernandez (17 service points; 10 aces and one kill); Kristina Siete and Amari Tate with two kills each; Ashley Walton (1 kills) and Tiffany Cerna (seven service points and one ace).
JV SERVING: 49 attempts with 40 made for an 82% average with 17 service aces.

NEXT: HT @ Westinghouse Friday September 29 at 5pm; Jv playing a 3-team set of matches @ HT on Saturday September 30th with a 9:30am start.

HT Boys Soccer results:
HT versus Northtown Charter in the Chicago Prep Conference playoffs: HT 3, Northtown 2.
HT moves to 5-8-2 overall and finishes 2-5-1 in Chicago Prep league play. Tiger goals by Paul Sefah, Julio Antunez and Christian Trejo. Assists went to Trejo, Alex Martinez and Hafeez Soberu. Goalkeeper Damien Garcia had 11 saves in net.
NEXT: a non-conference game @ Lisle on Saturday the 30th of September @ 10am and then Monday, October 2nd versus Cristo Rey @ 4:30pm @ Harrison Park in the next round of the Chicago Prep playoffs.
