HT Fall Sports roundup from Monday, Oct. 3rd:
Vb to host Noble Street Charter @ home today; Bsoc opens Chicago Prep conference playoffs on the road.
Lady Tigers win on the road vs. Intrinsic Charter. Playing a weekend non-conference match @ Intrinsic, the Lady Tigers returned home with a 25-23, 25-21 victory and improved to 12-3 overall. They are 1-1 in the GCAC Blue.
HT featured Kurtisha Singleton (6 kills); Sakaya Garity (4 kills, four ace serves & five digs); & Cristina Guzman (six set assists, 2 aces & 2 kills). Teammates Fatima Olaitan added four kills and Mya McKennie two kills, two set assists and two defensive digs. Other Tigers who contributed to the win were: Viviana Quezada (3 ace serves, 8 digs); Fernanda Anaya (3 aces and 11 digs) & Silvia Lepe (3 ace serves).
Unfortunately, the HT Jv were not able to move into the win column, dropping a 3-game match to Intrinsic by scores of 11-25, 25-23, 17-25.
Today, Monday, Oct. 3, the Lady Tigers host neighborhood rival Noble Street in a two-level match-up set to start at 5pm.

HT boys soccer: The Tigers open the Chicago Prep conference playoffs facing St. Benedict at 4:30pm @ Harrison Park. A win moves HT to the semifinal round.
And looking to the Illinois High School Assn. state playoffs, the Tigers, who were seeded #4 in the Francis Parker regional, will face #5 seed Noble Street Charter in a 4pm regional opener to be played Wednesday, Oct. 12 @ the Francis Parker field.
HT bsoc is currently 3-9-1 overall and 3-6-1 in league play.
