HT Fall Sports Roundup as of Sept. 19:

HT Girls Volleyball moves to 10-1 on the season; Jv wins their 3rd in a row! Tiger boys soccer captures senior night win

HT (now 10-1 overall and 4-0 in Chicago Prep league play) defeated visiting Northtown Charter by scores of 25-12, 25-14.
HIGHLIGHTS: Sakayah Garity (four kills, 8 service points with 6 ace serves); Karol Gonzalez (14 set assists; 12 service points and 6 aces); Rachel Asante (3 kills); Cece Gardner (8 service points, four aces and 3 kills); and Viviana Quezada (four service points and 2 digs). HT SERVING: 50 attempts with 42 made for an 84% average with 15 aces serves.

HT Jv captured their third win in a row with 27-15, 25-19 conference win over Northtown Charter. FEATURED: Moshay Turner (9 service points with 3 ace serves) and Ashley Walton (1 kill).

NEXT FOR the HT VARSITY: The HT INVITE takes place Saturday September 23 as the Lady Tigers host Noble Golder, Little Village and Cristo Rey (Waukegan) in matches that start at 9:30 am that morning.

HT Girls Volleyball at the Westmont tourney held September 16:
HT WINS #8 in a row, defeats Christ the King by scores of 25-7, 26-24:

Game one was all Lady Tigers as they never trailed en route to a 25-7 first game win!
Game two was a different tale as the Gladiators moved out to leads of 20-13 and 23-17 before HT made their winning move as
Viviana Quezada served eight in a row and the Lady Tigers stunned CTK 26-24 for the win.
HIGHLIGHTS: Viviana Quezada (12 service points, six aces); Cece Gardner (11 servicet points, four aces); Karol Gonzalez (15 set assists) and Sakayah Garity (nine kills). HT SERVING: 49 attempts with 39 made for an 80% average with 14 ace serves).

HT versus Westmont: HT fell for the first time this year as the host Sentinels serving was too strong to handle and HT fell by scores of 25-13, 25-15
HIGHLIGHTS: Sakayah Garity (4 kills) and Cece Gardner (four service points, two aces). HT SERVING: 28 attempts with 21 made for a 75% average with 5 aces serves.

HT versus St. Joseph (Westchester): In a very evenly matched contest, HT prevailed by scores of 25-23, 26-24.
In game one, HT moved out to a 20-13 lead but the Chargers came back to lead at 21-20 before HT's Karol Gonzalez served points 22 and 23.
The Chargers then tied the contest at 23-all but two St. Joseph team errors gave HT points 24 and 25 for the win.
Game 2 was a back-and-forth affair with St. Joseph moving out to a 17-15 lead. But then HT's Sakayah Garity took matters into her own hands serving points 17 thru 22 and it looked like the Tigers had the game going away.
But St. Joseph fought back to tie at 24-all before Viviana Quezada put the Lady Tigers back in the win column serving point 26 and the match!
HIGHLIGHTS: Sakayah Garity (12 kills, 7 service points); Viviana Quezada (8 service points, 3 aces); Karol Gonzalez (17 set assists); Cece Gardner (six service points) and Sui Len (5 digs).
HT SERVING: 50 attempts with 40 made for a 92% average and 9 aces serves.

HT BOYS SOCCER UPDATE: HT downs Northtown Charter 3-1 (September 18) to return to winning ways.
After struggling thru 5 losses and a tie in their last seven games, the Tigers reboundes for an exciting 3-1 Chicago Prep conference win
at Humboldt Park at the hands of the Pumas of Northtown Charter.
HIGHLIGHTS: Tiger goals were scored by Christian Trejo, Josh Giron and Kevin Perez.
NEXT: A Chicago Prep conference game at Hope Academy on Monday September 25th.

HT Flag Football dropped two Chicago Prep games. The latest to Oak Park high school and the first to Prov/St. Mel.
