Westmont captured their own four-team tourney defeating St. Joseph Westchester, Holy Trinity and Chicago Christ the King in three matches.
Chicago Holy Trinity came in second on the day defeating both Christ the King in the opening match 25-13. 25-8; dropping a three-game match to the host
Lady Sentinels 17-25, 25-22, 20-25 and completing the morning session with a three-game win over St. Joseph by scores of 25-23, 21-25 and 25-21.
Holy Trinity is 10-3 on the season and also 4-1 in the Chicago Prep. NEXT: vs. Josephinum at home Tuesday Sept. 18 -- Jv/V -- 5 p.m./6 p.m.
At the Westmont quad vs. Christ the King. The Lady Tigers improved to 8-2 overall with a 25-13, 25-8 win. Leading the way for HT: Cece Gardner (6 kills);
Karol Gonzalez (13 set assists, twelve service points and 7 ace serves); Rachel Asante (4 kills, 2 blocks); Moshay Turner (seven service points and Star Brooks (6 service points). HT SERVING: 49 attempts with 45 made for a 92% average with 15 ace serves. CTK SERVING: 21 attempts with 15 made for a 71% average and one ace.
MATCH 2 @ Westmont vs. the host Sentinels: The Tigers dropped an inspired 3-game match to the host school, dropping the first game 17-25 before rebounding to take game 2 by a final of 25-20. In game 3 HT took a 6 to 1 lead in the early going but could not keep up the heat on Westmont which inched back through out this game to take the contest by a final of 25-20.
HT was lead by Cece Gardner (8 kills, eight digs); Rachel Asante (six kills, 3 blocks); Karol Gonzales (3 kills, 14 set assists, thirteen service points with 2 aces); Evelyn Padilla (6 kills, four service points); Star Brooks (2 kills, five digs); Angela Ponce (one kill, 6 digs, five service points); Moshay Turner (11 digs, two service points) and Kristina Vargas (3 digs). HT SERVING: 64 attempts with 58 made for a 91% average with 4 aces. WESTMONT SERVING: 71 attempts with 66 made for a 93% average and 11 aces.

MATCH 3 @ Westmont vs. St. Joseph Westchester: Following the 3-game battle with Westmont, the Lady Tigers played St. Joseph in another 3-game struggle. This time however, HT came home with a 25-23, 21-25, 25-21 victory to cap the day at 2-1 in tourney play.
