HT Gbk results: HT 22, Woodlands Academy 20
Lady Tigers take third game in a row and move to 7-3 on the season.
In a low scoring and tight contest, the visiting Lady Tigers of Holy Trinity (7-3 overall, 3-1 in the Chicago Prep) used a 10-point third quarter scoring spurt to erase a Woodlands 13-7 halftime advantage and defeat the Wildcats by two points at 22-20 Friday night in Lake Forest.
The margin of victory came down to free throws made with HT's Cece Gardner connecting on 3 of 4 free throws in the final stanza while Woodlands only converted 2 of 8 as a team down this same stretch. Overall, HT hit 5 of 18 (28%) from the charity stripe while Woodlands converted 4 of 12 (33%) on the night.
Leading scorer in the game was Woodlands # 2 (Ava) with 10 points and #12 (Elizabeth) with three. HT countered with Jada White getting six points and Kristina Vargas adding 5. Teammates Fatima Olaitan and Sakayah Garity each had 4, with Garity bagging a trey.
