HT Girls Cross Country update

HT XC roundup:
On a perfect day for running, both Mellanie Barnes and Rebecca Passantino showed improvement at the Whitney Young Ziomek Invitational (9/24) as both athletes are rounding into shape for the upcoming championship season. Even though Mellanie was working through a lower leg injury, she turned in one of her better times for the season, completing the 3 mile course in 22:50.40. Rebecca established another personal record on the fast course lowering her time to 26:42.60.

The Chicago Prep Conference held its Cross Country Championship race on Monday (10/10) allowing Rebecca to compete in her first varsity championship race. Running as a non conference open competitor, Rebecca navigated the 3 mile course delivering a season and personal best of 25:20 and finishing in 20th place. Mellanie continues her rehabilitation for her leg injury and did not compete. She will not compete for the rest of the season, leaving Rebecca to carry the HT banner. Her next challenge and race will be the GCAC Cross Country Championship on Saturday (10/15) on the campus of Lewis University (SEE NOTE BELOW).

Catholic League Cross Country Championships - 10/15/16
On Saturday, October 15th the Chicago Catholic League, along with the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference, will be holding their Cross Country Championship!

Once again, Lewis University will host the race. Lewis University is located on 1 University Parkway, Romeoville, IL.
We thank Lewis University, in advance, for allowing us to use their wonderful facility for our Championship!
