HT GVB Continues to roll; defeats Our Lady of Teypeyac on both levels at home

The Lady Tiger varsity continue on a victory roll with a two-game sweep of visiting Our Lady of Tepeyac October 2nd. Scores were 25-11 and 25-11 in favor of the host Tigers who moved to 17-1 on the season and 6-0 in Chicago Prep Conference play.

HIGHLIGHTS featured Cece Gardner lead the way with 14 service points and eight ace serves with 3 kills on the day.
Teammates Fatima Olaitan (4 kills) Viviana Quezada (four service points, 2 aces); Sakayah Garity (4 kills); Karol Gonzalez (12 set assists,
nine service points) and Rachel Asante (2 kills) also in the mix.
HT SERVING: 48 attempts with 43 made for a 90% average and 18 aces.

The HT Jv also collected a two-game sweep of OLT by scores of 25-16, 25-5.
Amari Tate (5 kills); Lizette Gallegos (1 kill); Kristina Siete (four set assists) and Tiffany Cerna (17 service points, with 12 aces) led the way for the young Tigers
HT JV SERVING: 48 attempts with 41 made for an 85% average with 24 aces.

NEXT UP: A CPC conference visit to Prov/St. Mel Tuesday, October 3 with matches at 5pm/6pm. Then home to face Christ the King in another CPC league encounter on Thursday, October 5th at 5pm/6pm.

In a non-conference cross country race at Lisle Senior high school, HT senior cross country runner Mellanie Barnes improved her overall time and posted a fine 3-mile time in a tough field of Class 1A thru 3A runners Saturday September 30.
Barnes prepares herself for the upcoming state 1A meet to also be held at the Lisle site on October 21.
