HT Spring 2019 sports wrap for Monday April 8th

HT Track opens outdoor season; bvb tops Hope Academy in conference play

Tiger Runners Open Outdoor Season

On Saturday, the Tiger Track team traveled to Hanson Stadium to open the 2019 outdoor season at the 3rd Annual Eagle Invitational hosted by Orr high school.

Moshay Turner (1st 400 meters, 5th 200 meters) put the Lady Tigers in the scoring column with new personal records in both events.

Second year runner Ariana Nelson also established a personal record in the 100 meter sprint. First year runner Isaiah Davis finished 8th in the 110 High Hurdle competition. Overall, the meet provided valuable experience for the first year runners Shay Hicks, Lyle Gray and Kevin Gopar and established a performance base for the rest of the season.

The teams’ next competition will a quadrangle meet April 10th at Lisle High School, followed by the Walther Christian Invitational on April 20th at Triton College in Melrose Park.

TIGER BOYS VOLLEYBALL:

HT (4-1 overall and 3-0 Chicago Prep league play) defeated host Hope Academy by scores of 25-11, 25-17.

HT: Jonathan Vega (12 set assists, six service points); Jelani Jackson and Jalen Gomez (six kills each); Thomas Cheng (3 kills); Mickey Bitew (2 kills); and Kevin Perez (eight service points, 4 set assists).
