HT Spring Sports Moving into State Playoff Mode

HT to Face Francis Parker in Regional title game Friday the 13th!

HT dispatched Aspira 3-2 on Tuesday May 10th to win their FIRST-EVER regional game in a contest played at Francis Parker field. Scoring for Holy Trinity were seniors Monica Zavala with 2 goals and Vanessa Cardenas. Senior goal keeper Esmeralda Flores had six saves on the day as she and her teammates played solid defense.

NEXT UP for the Lady Tigers is a Friday May 13th match-up with host Francis Parker @ 4pm on the same field. Winner of this contest moves on to sectional play!

TIGERS Defeat Rival Cristeros on Home Court:
In Chicago Prep Conference boys volleyball, Holy Trinity (11-5 overall, 4-3 in the CPC) defeated visiting Cristo Rey

by scores of 26-24, 25-19.

The first game saw HT rally from a 23-20 deficit to overtake the Cristeros with Christian Flores scoring points

22 to 24 before teammate Alejandro Munoz tallied the winning serve.

Game 2 was nip-and-tuck til the host Tigers went up 18-15 and then closed out the match with important kills

by Munoz -- who tallied 9 kills and 2 serving points on the night. Jose Zeremo had 7 kills and 2 blocks for

the Tigers while setter Rafael Montes added 19 set assists and six service points for the hosts.

HT made 44 of 49 serves (90%) for the match.

The HT sophomores were also victors defeating Cristo Rey by scores of 26-24, 13-25, 25-20.

Millian Abay tallied 7 kills and setter Jonathan Vega added 10 set assists.

NEXT UP: HT @ Northtown Charter on Wednesday at 5pm/6pm.
