HT Spring Sports wrap for 04.26.17

Boys Volleyball:
In Chicago Prep Conference action, Holy Trinity defeated visiting Rochelle-Zell by scores of 27-25, 25-15 to improve to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in league play. It was the first league loss for the visitors.
HT was led by Demetrius Reeves (15 kills, three blocks); Alex Munoz (7 kills, 21 digs and seven service points); Jonathan Vega (19 set assists, six service points) and Christian Flores (10 service points).
HT SERVING: 51 attempts with 42 made for a 82% average with five ace serves.
Early on, the Tigers moved to a 7-5 advantage as Reeves put down three of his 15 kills midway thru game one.
However, Rochelle-Zell regrouped and led 21-20 before HT's Million Abay served points 22 and 23 for the host Tigers to tie the game late.
From there it went back and forth thru 24 and 25-all before Munoz put the contest away with a game-winning kill and a 27-25 game one win.
HT had been experiencing a second-game letdown of late but tonight it was a different story as Flores moved HT from a 7-6 lead to 16-6 with eight straight service points and Rochelle-Zell never really challenged after this in game two.
NOTE: Holy Trinity now prepares for their own HT Tiger Invite this Saturday (04.29) when Guerin Prep, Little Village and Catalyst-Maria visit.
