Tiger Track Performs Well at Walther Christian Academy Invitational

On a cool April afternoon (Saturday, 04/21/18), the Holy Trinity Track team took advantage of their time on the oval to deliver some impressive mid-season performances. Sophomore Moshay Turner led the way with a fifth place finish and personal best of 13.8 in the 100 meter sprint. She followed up by capturing the 400 meter title in 1:04.23, again a personal best. Turner completed her day bringing home hardware with a fourth place effort in the 200 meter sprint, producing a season best of 28.81. Not to be outdone, senior Mellanie Barnes took home a bronze medal with a seasonal best in the 800 meter run completing the two lap race in 2:37.59.

On the boys’ side, senior Hafeez Soberu opened with an 11.47 100 meter sprint, good for second place and a new season best. He concluded his day with a season best 23.46 in the 200 meter event resulting in a fourth place finish.

BVB: Northtown upends HT by scores of 25-10, 25-18 (played April 23 @ HT):
The Tigers (now 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the Chicago Prep) were led by Abay Million (4 kills); Kevin Perez (10 set assists) and Eder Gonzalez (3 kills). HT SERVING: 29 attempts with 24 made for an 83% average.
