Luther North Invitational
On Saturday the Holy Trinity Track Team participated in their first major outdoor meet of the season, running in
near perfect conditions. No less than nine personal records were set at the meet, with every member of the
team establishing at least one personal best.
Jaylen Jones and Shawn Pruitt had a strong day in their respective events with Jaylen finishing 8th in both the
shot put and discus, establishing new personal bests in both events. Shawn finished 7th in the one lap sprint
event and 6th in 200 meter sprint, while establishing a new personal record.
Led by Abiola Salimon (2nd place 100 hurdles, 4th place in both the 100 and 200 meter sprint events, 6th place
in the 300 meter hurdles) and Mellanie Barnes (3rd place 800 meter run), the Lady Tigers finished 8th in the
team standings.
While not figuring in the team scoring, Fernanda Ayana set a new personal best in the 1600 meter run.
A special thanks to the parents, faculty and staff that came out to cheer on the HT athletes. We really appreciate
our support. Congratulations to all team members for their outstanding effort.
