Details Emerging About La Colombe's Plans for Wicker Park

Since news broke in April of La Colombe making its way to Wicker Park, few details have been available.

But little by little, they are trickling out.

La Colombe, a Philadelphia-based café with locations in New York, Chicago and Seoul, South Korea, will be replacing the Greener Cleaner dry cleaners underneath the Damen Blue Line stop at 1552 N. Damen Ave.

The cafe is expected to open in September, according to employees at the West Loop location, which is the only La Colombe currently in the city. 

The café should resemble that site in the same sit-down café style.

However, according to DNAInfo Chicago, because of the building’s status as a historic landmark, the architects weren't sure as of this week what the exact layout will look like.

Greener Cleaner has claimed the location since 2003, but parking difficulties led to owners' decision to leave this location. 

The business, with five other locations throughout Chicago, will leave the location on Saturday.
