According to Chicago police, Stanton was seen parking his car several blocks from a business in the 1500 block of North Leavitt Street and wearing similar clothes worn by the suspect in previous robberies. Officers approached Stanton, who then tried to flee while keeping a handgun from falling out of his pants.

Once in custody, Stanton was identified as the person responsible for the armed robberies, police said.
