Logan Square Man Accused Of Shooting, Wounding 17-Year-Old Boy

CHICAGO, IL — An 18-year-old Logan Square man is accused of shooting and wounding a 17-year-old Tuesday in the Jefferson Park neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
William Pacheco, 18, of the 3100 block of North Springfield Avenue, was charged with aggravated battery, possession of between 100 to 500 grams of marijuana and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, all felonies. He also was charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of a firearm. Pacheco's next court date is Thursday.
The shooting happened at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the 4900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. The victim was hit in the head and taken to Lutheran General Hospite, police said. He's currently in critical condition.

According to police, Pacheco was identfied as the shooter by the victim.
