Lowell School McTeacher's Night

The Chicago McDonald's at 3245 W. North Ave. was taken over by nine teachers to raise money for Lowell School instruments in need of repairs

Lowell School held their annual McTeacher's Night on Thursday, April 5th, at the Chicago McDonald's on North Ave.

The Chicago McDonald's at 3245 W. North Ave. was taken over by nine teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Lowell School instruments in need of repairs. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and Principal Rivera behind the counter and throughout the restaurant. As always Drumline Director Ed Oberdieck was on hand leading the fabulous performance by the Drumline.

The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies and even dressing up in a pie costume--all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Lowell had student Chris Hernandez in the pie box almost the entire night. Students selling the pies were Soraiya Concepcion and Suheily Cuevas and they all did a fabulous job. They sold 110 pies and all the money went to Lowell to help with instrument repairs.

A special thank you goes to Lowell music teacher Carmen Rivera-Kurban, who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Lowell teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a great evening.
