Man Beaten, Stabbed In West Town

A 25-year-old man was attacked by a group on the West Side, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A man was critically injured Thursday on Chicago's West Side, police said. The victim was beaten and stabbed in West Town, according to authorities. The attack happened in the 2000 block of West Ferdinand Street around 10:30 p.m., police said.

The 25-year-old man was on Ferdinand when a group of men went up to him and beat and stabbed him, police said. The victim was stabbed in the leg, and the knife hit an artery, according to police.

The man took himself to Rush University Medical Center, and was transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

The attack was under investigation. No one was in custody.
