North Side Restaurants Earn Michelin Stars
Restaurants across several North Side neighborhoods earned Michelin Stars in the rating group's 2013 guide.

After unveiling its Bib Gourmand selections for 2013 last week, the Michelin Guide has gone on to announce its 2013 Michelin Star winners for Chicago, and several North Side restaurants have been awarded the rating group's highest honors.
Lincoln Park's Alinea was once again the only restaurant in the city to earn a three-star rating, which, according to Michelin, rewards "exceptional cuisine where diners eat extremely well, often superbly. It also notes that dishes are precisely executed, using superlative ingredients. Worth a special journey," according to a WBEZ report.

L20, also in Lincoln Park, was one of only two Chicago restaurants awarded two stars, which "denote excellent cuisine, skillfully and carefully crafted dishes of outstanding quality. Worth a detour." L20 moved up from a one-star rating last year.
A total of 16 Chicago restaurants earned a one-star designation. According to Michelin, "One star indicates a very good restaurant in its category, offering cuisine prepared to a consistently high standard. A good place to stop on your journey."

Wicker Park's Schwa and Bucktown's Takashi were among the one-star winners—each also earned one star last year. Lincoln Square's Goosefoot, is new to the list this year.
Other new additions to this year's one-star list are Mexique, which moved up from a Bib Gourmand designation last year, and Sixteen, which earned one star in 2011 but did not make the list last year.
