Pantsless Burglar Confronts Women in Wicker Park

CHICAGO, IL - A half-naked man has been terrorizing women in the Wicker Park neighborhood.

Chicago police report three incidents occurred within blocks of each other last week in which women in the neighborhood have been awaken at night to find a pantless man in her residence.

Early Friday morning in the 1400 block of North Greenview Avenue, a woman woke up to find an unknown man "standing at the foot of her bed with his pants down," according to police. The man removed several items from the home and fled after the victim pleaded with him not to hurt her.

A similar incident was reported that night after 11 p.m., but this time the man had his hand covering the mouth of a woman who was awaken in the 1800 block of West Evergreen Avenue. The victim was able to break free and saw the man flee the residence from her bedroom window.

In both cases police describe the offender as a black man in his 20s.

Less than a half-hour before the incident on Evergreen Avenue was reported, a couple in the 1200 block of North Wood told police they heard noises coming from a rear bedroom and found the door locked. When they forced the door open, they found someone had fled through the window.
