Pregnant Mother Wards Off Burglar In Wicker Park: VIDEO
A pregnant woman leapt up to protect her home when she saw an intruder.

CHICAGO, IL — A pregnant mother in Wicker Park warded off a would-be burglar Thursday night in her home on North Bell Avenue. Surveillance video shows a man climbing the stairs to the woman's home, and looking around before opening the front door. The mother's young son was sleeping inside when the the man entered, NBC 5 reported.
The security footage shows the mother immediately stand her ground.
"Hello! Who are you? Get out of my house! Get the f*** out of my house!" she yells in the video.

The man left immediately, and police said he later tried to break into a vehicle in the 1600 block of North Maplewood Avenue. The suspect is a 15-year-old boy and was armed with a handgun when he was taken into custody, police said.
The mother posted the surveillance video to Facebook to warn her neighbors.

"A momma bear protecting her cub," a neighbor told NBC 5. "I don't know if she would've reacted the same way if her son wasn't in the house."
The suspect has been charged with trespassing and possession of a firearm, police said. The serial number on his gun had been scraped off, according to authorities, which is a felony.
