Pregnant Woman Carjacked At Gunpoint In Bucktown: Cops

Carjackers made a man and his pregnant wife lie on the ground at gunpoint in Bucktown while they stole their vehicle, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A pregnant woman and her husband, both 33, were the victims of an armed carjacking in Bucktown Friday morning, according to police. The carjacking happened in the 1700 block of North Wolcott Avenue around 9:30 a.m., police said. A surveillance video of the carjacking shows three offenders jump out of a silver Prius holding guns.

A pregnant woman was backing her car out of a garage and her husband was taking out the garbage, when the suspects forced the couple to lie on the ground, according to police. The offenders then stole the woman's purse and phone before taking off in their Range Rover, police said.

No one was in custody. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
