'Purple Walk' to Honor Prince in Wicker Park
Hundreds plan to wear purple and blast Prince hits in a march through Wicker Park Friday night.

CHICAGO, IL - Hundreds of people will gather in Wicker Park Friday night to celebrate this thing we call life.
And the life of Prince, the beloved musical artist who passed away last month.
‘A Night of a Thousand Princes - Purple Walk’ is planned from 8-10 p.m. on Friday, May 6 in the neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side. Planners will meet at sunset at the fountain in Wicker Park and proceed to march through the neighborhood wearing purple, hittin up all six corners of Wicker Park.

“We will be playing his biggest hits, as we take it to the streets of Wicker Park around 9 p.m.,” according to a Facebook event on the march.
Nearly 400 plan to take part and another 1,700 are “interested” in the event, which includes a walk down Damen Ave. to Division, then to Ashland and Milwaukee Ave.
“We will walk around the neighborhood and end our Prince tribute parade with LETS GO CRAZY!!!”
Attendees are encouraged to “put on some eyeliner” and their best Prince-inspired outfit.
And wear lots of purple. Lots and lots of purple.
