This dog will knock your "Sox" off!

Hi, my name is Sox the wonder dog! The first two years of my life were pretty rough, but now I have a chance to be some lucky human’s best bud.

I hail from Quincy, Illinois. I was picked up by animal control five times until someone realized I was trying to get help. You see, my owners were abusing me. Each time I was picked up while trying to run away (for help), I had wounds on me. On the fifth escape, my muzzle was burned, most likely from some type of chemical. Finally, a neighbor came forward to tell the animal control person not to return me to my owners because they were the ones hurting me.

The nice volunteers at Homeward Bound Waggin stepped in to help me. Unfortunately, I had a strong aversion to being on a leash. These nice volunteers think I was restrained on leash when I was being hurt at my former home. Thanks to the support of B.A.R.C. (Barriers Against Reoccurring Cruelty) I was able to go through an intensive training program with Curtis Scott in Chicago. Wow, I didn’t know being on a leash and taking a walk could be so much fun! Thanks Curtis for your patience, kindness and help. Thank you B.A.R.C. for sponsoring me and my training. I also want to thank Ronna and Homeward Bound Waggin for not giving up on me.

I had a commitment from a rescue, but it fell through. I am currently being boarded with the generous donations Homeward Bound Waggin raised for me, but the funds are running out. I may be at the mercy of the system soon.

I am a two year old, brindle and white pit bull mix. I am super sweet (considering I was severely mistreated) and love to run and play with other dogs (no cats please). Maybe your doggie needs a playmate; I would love to be the one! Do you want a running or walking pal? I’m your guy. Let’s shake off the winter blues (and boots) together.

I have been neutered, up-to-date on all inoculations and tested negative for heart worm. I need a forever home, foster home or a rescue to step up for me. If you want to see a video of me in action, please go to Curtis Scott dog trainer Facebook or Homeward Bound Waggin’s Facebook page.

If you are interested in adopting me or are a rescue who will take me in and help me find my forever home, please contact Ronna by posting on Homeward Bound Waggin’s Facebook page or email Curtis Scott at csdogtrainer@gmail.com.

Hey, if you love baseball and you are a White Sox fan, I could be your best bud named after your favorite team. I’d love to meet you and “knock your Sox off” with my playful charm!
