Truex Bluex Salon Brings Comprehensive Service, Experience to Wicker Park

At Truex Bluex Salon & Spa in Wicker Park, it’s a general requirement that employees have eight years experience in the industry.

Truex Bluex opened April 27 at 2038 W. Division, bringing in many people from around the city. The salon and spa seeks to offer a comprehensive list of service, going past just hair and nails and encompassing a full med spa and other services such as botox.

“It’s a passion for our technicians, it isn’t just a job,” Truex Bluex director Kelsey Dunstatter said. “It really is about customer service. We really want to make sure our customers have a great experience, and that goes back to our experience.  When they come in here, they’re getting the best Chicago has to offer.

“We like to set that bar a little high.”

Dunstatter, who has worked locally in the industry, said she was intrigued with the idea the owner envisioned.

“You name it, we do it,” she said. “We really try to find unique things to progress in. We wanted to bring all the benefits of the services we offer and all of the top stuff on the market, but at a very reasonable price.”

The customer service she focused on during a look inside the two-story salon included the idea of serving everyone, including those on a budget.  The salon has 14 different discount programs, including a VIP program that gives $50 gift cards for referrals, Dunstatter said.
