Man Found Unconscious On Bucktown Sidewalk Identified

UPDATED: Joseph Ferrans was found Thursday morning on a Bucktown sidewalk and is in a hospital intensive care unit.

CHICAGO, IL — A man police found unconscious Thursday morning on a Northwest side sidewalk has been identified.

Joseph Ferrans is the man who was discovered at about 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the 2100 block of West Charleston Avenue in the Bucktown neighborhood, police said. He was unconscious at the time, and police did not know the cause of that or why he was on the sidewalk.

The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospeital, and he is currently in the facility's intensive care unit.

CHICAGO, IL — Police are asking for help identifying a man who was found unconscious Thursday on the Northwest Side.

The unidentified man was discovered on the sidewalk at about 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the 2100 block of West Charleston Avenue in the Bucktown neighborhood, police said. He was unconscious at the time, and police did not know the cause of that or why he was on the sidewalk.

The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospeital, and he is currently in the facility's intensive care unit.

Police described the man in the following way:

  • 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall
  • 130 pounds
  • in his 70s
  • light complexion
  • blue eyes and bushy eyebrows
  • balding with gray hair
