Woman Struck By Bullet While In Bedroom On Near West Side

The 24-year-old heard a shot and felt pain, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A 24-year-old woman was in the bedroom of a home on Chicago's Near West Side when she was struck by a bullet Tuesday night, police said. It happened in the 2100 block of West Washington Boulevard near North Hoyne Avenue around 11:45 p.m., according to officials. The woman said she heard a shot and felt pain.

Police said the bullet hit the woman in the back. She was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, according to authorities.

Police were investigating the shooting and nobody was in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
