Owner Rajesh Desikan, a longtime parent in the program, emphasizes water safety, small class sizes, and inclusive instruction for all ages, including individuals with special needs. The school also plans to build community ties through charitable and nonprofit involvement.
2. Soup's On: No. 13 Bison Enjoy Some Home Cookin' In Regional Finals (journal-topics.com) — Buffalo Grove High School’s baseball team just captured the Class 4A Buffalo Grove Regional title with an 11–0 home shutout, powered by pitcher Campbell and slugger Rocco Perricone. The win came on the school’s new varsity field before a packed crowd, and the Bison now head to a June 3 sectional semifinal against Warren at Libertyville High School.
3. ‘A true public servant': Section of Route 83 named ‘Beverly Sussman Way' (dailyherald.com) — Drivers in Buffalo Grove will soon see Route 83 between Arlington Heights Road and Deerfield Parkway officially designated as “Beverly Sussman Way,” honoring the former village president and longtime science teacher. Local legislators pushed the resolution through Springfield, and signage details are now being coordinated with IDOT to recognize her decades of service to the village and its students.
4. Buffalo Grove Student Earns Honor Society Recognition At Iowa State (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove families can celebrate several local students earning major academic honors this spring. A Buffalo Grove student, Marko Chepelyuk, was elected to the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi honor society at Iowa State, while Thomas Hein and Amanda Turofsky made the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean's List for maintaining at least a 3.4 GPA.
