1. Facebook Marketplace Jewelry Sale Turns Into Robbery: Buffalo Grove Blotter (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove police are investigating a robbery tied to a Facebook Marketplace jewelry sale in a parking lot on South Buffalo Grove Road, along with several retail thefts and other property crimes around town. The latest blotter also details local DUI, reckless driving, and license-related arrests, giving residents a clear snapshot of recent public safety activity in their neighborhoods.
2. Buffalo Grove Unveils Design For Clove Park (journal-topics.com) — Buffalo Grove has finalized the design for Clove Park, a new 1-acre public gathering space at The Clove development that aims to be a signature landmark for the village. Planned features include distinct groves for socializing, dining and picnicking, an accessible layout, and a central sculpture celebrating Buffalo Grove. Construction is expected to start in late 2027, funded largely through the Lake Cook Corridor TIF and potential grants.
3. The money faucet: Buffalo Grove prepares water system upgrade (dailyherald.com) — Buffalo Grove residents should prepare for steady increases in water and sewer bills as the village invests more than $200 million in aging water and sewer infrastructure through 2045. Finance Director Chris Black outlined a plan combining annual hikes to the fixed facility fee, 4% yearly water and sewer rate increases, and future bond issues to keep the system reliable. The strategy also factors in rising costs from the Northwest Water Commission and new revenue from nearby subdivisions.
4. Sophomore Oliver Rojewski no longer has to ‘prove myself.' Not as Warren plays for its first sectional title. (chicagotribune.com) — Buffalo Grove High School’s baseball team saw its season end in a Class 4A Libertyville Sectional semifinal, falling 6–0 to Warren. Sophomore first baseman Oliver Rojewski went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, helping Warren advance to Saturday’s sectional title game against Libertyville. The matchup highlighted a strong postseason run that ultimately stopped short for Buffalo Grove.
