BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Big Blue Swim School has reopened its Buffalo Grove location following a round of renovations aimed at updating the facility for local families.
The swim school at 101 McHenry Road reopened Aug. 8 after improvements that included new showers and tile walls on both pool decks, upgraded changing-room partitions, new murals and branding, fresh lobby carpeting, new lighting and updated reception stations.
The company said the renovations were intended to create a more welcoming environment while keeping its existing swim-lesson programming in place.
"These renovations are an investment in the families who make Big Blue part of their weekly routine," said Tom Dolan, president of corporate pools at Big Blue Swim School. "We've refreshed the space to create an even more welcoming environment, but what won't change is our commitment to helping every child build confidence, make meaningful progress and enjoy learning to swim."
The company marked the renovations with a community grand reopening celebration Aug. 15.
The free event included a DJ, face painting, balloon artists, snacks and beverages, along with tours of the updated facility and opportunities for families to meet staff and learn about the school's curriculum.
Because the event has already taken place, I would keep it as brief context rather than frame it as an upcoming attraction.
Big Blue offers four progressive lesson levels: Baby Blue, Bright Blue, Bold Blue and Big Blue.
Most lessons run 30 minutes, while the most advanced Big Blue level is 45 minutes. Private lessons are also available.
The company also offers free trial lessons for new families interested in trying the program.
