LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — From the barricades of 19th-century France to the yellow brick road, Marriott Theatre is packing some familiar titles into its 2027 season.
The Lincolnshire theater announced its new subscription season this month, with "Pippin," "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder," "Almost Heaven: Songs of John Denver," "Les Misérables" and "The Wiz" making up the five-show mainstage lineup.
The theater will also present three Theatre for Young Audiences productions and four entries in its Artists Lounge Live Concert Series.
A scheduling change is also coming next year. Beginning in 2027, Saturday performances will be held at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., while Sunday shows will begin at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Here's a look at the mainstage season:
"Pippin" — Starts Jan. 27
Stephen Schwartz's musical opens the 2027 season under the direction and choreography of Jeff Award nominee Amber Mak, whose Marriott credits include "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Buddy — The Buddy Holly Story" and "Disney's Finding Nemo."
The musical follows a young prince searching for an extraordinary life and features Schwartz songs including "Corner of the Sky," "Magic to Do," "No Time at All" and "Morning Glow."
"A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" — Starts April 14
Katie Spelman will direct and choreograph the Tony Award-winning musical comedy about Monty Navarro, a penniless man who learns he is ninth in line for an earldom and decides to improve his chances of inheriting the title.
Marriott Theatre favorite Alex Goodrich will play the members of the D'Ysquith family.
The production won the Tony Award for best musical during its Broadway run, along with honors from the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League.
"Almost Heaven: Songs of John Denver" — Starts June 16
John Denver's music takes center stage for Marriott's summer production, directed by James Vásquez.
Set against the late 1960s and early 1970s, "Almost Heaven" uses Denver's catalog to trace the era and the singer-songwriter's legacy. Songs include "Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine on My Shoulders," "Annie's Song," "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and "Calypso."
"Les Misérables" — Starts Aug. 25
One of musical theater's best-known productions returns to Marriott Theatre late next summer.
Jessica Fisch will direct the musical, with choreography by Marriott Theatre Associate Artistic Director Katie Johannigman.
Based in 19th-century France, "Les Misérables" follows Jean Valjean and a cast of characters through revolution, sacrifice and redemption. Its score includes "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and "Master of the House.""
"The Wiz" — Starts Nov. 10
Marriott will close out its mainstage season with "The Wiz," the Tony Award-winning reimagining of L. Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."
Deidre Goodwin will direct and choreograph the production, which blends rock, gospel and soul music into Dorothy's journey through Oz.
"The Wiz" won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, following its original Broadway debut.
Marriott Theatre's 2027 Theatre for Young Audiences season will begin with "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical," running Feb. 19 through March 27. Derek VanBarham will direct, with choreography by Tommy Rivera-Vega.
"Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile: The Musical," a pilot production of the Theatre for Young Audiences edition, will follow from July 9 through Aug. 8. Christopher Llewyn Ramirez will direct and Nich O'Neil will choreograph.
The season concludes with the world premiere of "Hansel & Gretel: Off The Grid," written by Johanna McKenzie Miller, Michael Mahler and Steven Strafford. The production, directed by Miller and choreographed by Mandy Modic, will run Nov. 27 through Jan. 9, 2028.

Subscriptions and single tickets for the 2027 season are on sale. Mainstage tickets start at $78, while Theatre for Young Audiences tickets begin at $19.75, plus taxes and handling fees.
Current subscribers will receive renewal packets by mail, according to the theater.

Founded in 1975, Marriott Theatre has staged more than 260 productions and says about 12 million people have attended performances during its history. The Lincolnshire theater has also received more than 600 Joseph Jefferson Award nominations.
