Annual Buffalo Grove High Dance Show Set To Dazzle Over 3 Nights

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — In its 44th year, Buffalo Grove High School's Orchesis co-ed dance group is set to perform its annual show. Titled "Envision," the show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

Under the direction of Michelle Carrison and her assistant, Hannah Vaselaney, the show will feature the talents of the students in ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz and tap.

According to Township High School District 214, Orchesis is a co-curricular activity that involves a variety of performance opportunities. The team also focuses on exploring, creating and producing dance as an art form.

Tickets for "Envision" may be purchased for students this week at a student rate of $7. All tickets for adults sold at the door are $10. There will be a special "Adiago" dance featuring a group of male Buffalo Grove student athletes. Additionally, a raffle of exciting prizes will happen at each nightly performance.

The show comprises 19 dances, 14 choreographed by students, and five choreographed by professional guest artists from the Chicago area; Skyler Newcome from Giordano Dance Chicago; Claire Hutchins, a local dancer/choreographer and D214 alum; Colleen Hollis professional dancer, choreographer and five-year Chicago Luvabull; and professional dancer and hip hop choreographer, Chris Xayarath, currently dancing for Disney World.
