Arson Arrest Made In Buffalo Grove House Fire: Police
A 24-year-old resident is being charged with three felonies stemming from a fire last Thursday at his Lucinda Drive home.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — An arrest has been made following a house fire last week in Buffalo Grove. Evan Rude, 24, of the 900 block of Lucinda Drive, is accused of three felonies, after allegedly setting his own home on fire.
Rude was arrested Friday and is currently in the Lake County Jail. He was charged with felony counts of aggravated arson, residential arson and arson.
Firefighters were dispatched to the home at around 7:16 p.m. Thursday, following reports of a structure fire. While firefighters were en route, Buffalo Grove police had arrived at the scene and reported smoke coming from the home, upgrading the alarm for additional assistance.

Firefighters were met with heavy smoke on the second floor as they started an aggressive interior attack. Firefighters confirmed all occupants were out of the house, and the fire was brought under control within approximately 15 minutes. All occupants were able to escape without injury.

Rude was identified as one of the occupants. Police investigated the incident by conducting neighborhood canvases and reviewing security camera footage. A warrant was obtained, leading to Rude's arrest. The Lake County State's Attorney's Office approved the charges.
