Back To School: Buffalo Grove 2021-22 School Calendar
Parents in Buffalo Grove can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Buffalo Grove, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Kildeer Countryside School District 96, Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102 and Township High School District 214.
The first day of school for Township High School District 214 students in Arlington Heights is Aug. 11. Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102 students are back on Aug. 18. Kildeer Countryside School 96 return Aug. 19.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in the Buffalo Grove school districts.

On Wednesday, the Illinois Federation of Teachers and Cook County Department of Public Health announced its endorsement of guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Illinois Department of Public Health calling for universal masking in schools, regardless of vaccination status.
Earlier this month, District 96 Superintendent Julie Schmidt said in a message to families in the district that school officials are hoping for further clarification from the various health care entities regarding mask wearing in schools before deciding on a policy for the 2021-2022 school year.

As part of its full in-person learning plan, District 102 stated universal mask wearing is "a key mitigation strategy that greatly reduces spread and keeps students in school."

- First Day: Aug. 11, 2021
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24-26, 2021
- Winter Break: Dec. 20-31, 2021
- Spring Break: March 20-25, 2022
- Last Day: May 27, 2022
Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102
- First Day: Aug. 18, 2021
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24-26, 2021
- Winter Break: Dec. 20-31, 2021
- Spring Break: March 21-25, 2022
- Last Day: June 2, 2022
Kildeer Countryside School 96
- First Day: Aug. 19, 2021
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24-26, 2021
- Winter Break: Dec. 20-Dec. 31, 2021
- Spring Break: March 18-25, 2022
- Last Day: June 2, 2022
