Blood Drive Nearly Breaks Record In Buffalo Grove
Fifty-two individuals signed up to give life-saving blood donations, according to the Village of Buffalo Grove.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — In another show of the strength and compassion from the local community, the Buffalo Grove Fire Department's blood drive in late June was an astounding success, according to Village of Buffalo Grove officials.
The all-time record of 60 blood donors was nearly broken. There were 52 individuals who signed up to give life-saving blood donations. Due to the pandemic, donor limits not normally required were in place, so many residents who wanted to donate were unable to give blood.
The Village will be hosting another blood drive from 8 a.m.–1 p.m. Sept. 5 at Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Drive. Appointments are required. Call Vitalant at (877) 543-3768 or visit vitalant.org.
