BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Since 2018, Bowling With Buddies has been a highlight of the year for local residents with special needs. The event is organized by the Village of Buffalo Grove's Rick Kahen Commission for Residents with Disabilities, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove and Bowlero.

"This event is truly one of a kind," RKCRD Commissioner Mark Weiner said. "Many participants return each year and ask to bowl with a 'buddy' they were previously paired with."

That first event six years ago featured 34 participants, while in recent years, the number of bowlers has grown to reach capacity with close to 100 participants registered, according to organizers.
