BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A local police dog is credited with helping to find a missing elderly man in Vernon Hills this past week. Buffalo Grove Police Department officer Danielle Baron and her K9 partner Hogyn assisted the Vernon Hills Police Department in tracking down the man after he wandered away from his home Monday afternoon, according to a post on the Vernon Hills Police Department Facebook page. The duo found the missing man in his neighborhood. He was safe and not harmed, authorities said. "Well done, Officer Baron and K9 Hogyn," according to a post on the village of Buffalo Grove Facebook page.
