Buffalo Grove Police Announce 4th Of July Traffic Enforcement Numbers
The department increased its enforcement efforts from June 16 through July 5.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — If you saw more Buffalo Grove Police Department cars on the road over the last few weeks, it was because of an increased enforcement effort during the 4th of July holiday season. As part of the annual "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," "Drive High, Get a DUI," and "Click It or Ticket" safety campaigns, police said they issued 28 citations, including 18 seat belt tickets.
The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, according to a news release.
Buffalo Grove police and over 200 other departments in the state were part of the effort with goal to "get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads, encourage seat belt use and enforce speeding and other traffic laws."
