Buffalo Grove Police Announce Result Of Labor Day 'Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over' Campaign

Buffalo Grove PD joined forces with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners throughout the state.

Buffalo Grove Police issued the following citations during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, which ran from August 20 through September 8, 2020:

• 34 Seat Belt Violations
• 8 Speeding Tickets
• 5 Uninsured Motorists
• 2 Unlicensed Driving

In addition, one adjudication citation was written for possession of cannabis.

“As traffic safety partners, we do our best to make sure all drivers and other road users are safe,” said Sergeant Michelle Kondrat. “While enforcement campaigns like this saves lives, there is still much to be done. Please help us spread the message: “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”

Nationally in 2018, 10,511 people were killed in drunk driving crashes, making up nearly one-third of all traffic fatalities that year. More than 10,000 people have died because of impaired driving each of the last four years in the United States.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department joined forces with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners throughout the state for the enforcement effort. The statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns are made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
