The campaign ran from Nov. 17 through Nov. 27.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Saying it "successfully caught people's attention," the Buffalo Grove Police Department is pleased with the results of its recent Thanksgiving traffic safety campaign. The effort, which ran from Nov. 17 through Nov. 27, is funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns.
According to a news release, here are the results of the campaign, which netted 61 stations from 45 traffic stops:
- 29 seat belt violations
- 10 for distracted driving with cell phones
- 2 uninsured motorists
- 9 for speeding
"We issue citations to remind drivers and passengers that seat belt use isn't a suggestion, it's the law," Buffalo Grove Police Lieutenant Tara Anderson said. "This year's campaign successfully caught people's attention with highly visible enforcement methods. As always, our goal is a safe community with safe drivers."
