The campaign is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Here is a breakdown of the citations, according to BGPD: <ul><li>22 seat belt citations</li><li>7 distracted driving citations</li><li>13 speeding citations</li><li>12 additional citations</li><li>one traffic arrest</li></ul> "Through the Memorial Day enforcement campaign, we helped make Illinois roads safer and spread the word that seat belts save lives," Commander Tara Anderson said.
